Engagements and fees
What drives the cost, and what you get for it.
We don't publish a price, because two $10M companies can need very different things. We'd rather tell you what drives the fee, how it's structured, and what we won't do, so the number, when it comes, makes sense.
What drives the fee
— How much of the accounting we take on
— The number of entities, locations and departments
— Payables, receivables and payroll volume
— How much CFO involvement next year's decisions require
— The state of the books when we start
— Whether there is lender or family reporting
— The capability already on your team
— Special projects: a system change, a transaction, a cleanup
How it's structured
Ongoing engagements are a fixed monthly fee, quoted in writing after we've looked at your numbers. Month to month, with 30 days' notice either way. The fee is set by the level of responsibility we take on and the complexity of the company, and it is reviewed when the company changes, not when the calendar does.
Projects are quoted separately: a written scope, a fixed fee and a finish date, before any work starts. Loan packages are deliberately kept low because they're how many long-term relationships begin.
Most clients spend about an hour a month with Chris and almost no time sending us things.
What we won't do: hourly billing, or a "customized quote" that tells you nothing.
Engagements scale. You don't rehire the finance function.
Start
Bookkeeping and close
Or a fixed-fee project: a cleanup, a loan package, a budget.
Expand
Payables, payroll, reporting
The back office comes off the owner's plate.
Grow
KPIs and finance staff oversight
A scorecard, a close calendar, a team that knows what good looks like.
Strategic
CFO planning, banking, forecasting
The monthly review, the weekly cash note, the call with your banker.
Senior financial capability without building another department.
— No recruiting process, and no ramp-up while a new hire learns the company.
— No full-time executive salary commitment.
— No office, workstation or benefits package for CFO Anywhere personnel.
— Scope that expands and contracts with the business.
— Access to a team, not a single hire: a CFO and three accountants who have seen your situation before.
Tell us what's going on. We'll tell you what we see
One conversation with Chris, no deck. He'll tell you what he sees and what it would take to fix it, including if the answer is that you don't need a CFO yet.
